“Would you like to work for us officially?” he asked.
I happily agreed. For the next few months I help plan and revise the company, while offering my services to do book covers. Not a month later we met up again for supper.
“I have something to ask you,” he said.
A nervous vibration worked out in my voice when I asked what it was. He wanted me to become Vice-president and help run the new company. It was such a sudden big jump. After a quick joke, I agreed. So, we went on. I planned our next few company events, which were successful. Shortly after that we again met. Another supper. Several jokes.
Once again, he dropped a loaded statement. “I got something really important to talk to you about.” His voice sounded unsure and nervous.
In response, I also grew nervous for a moment. “Sure. What?”
This, right here, he dropped the biggest question I ever heard. “Would you be willing to become the president of the company?”
I choked a moment. After a few awkward moments, I agreed. I then, in a little diner, became President of Prometheus Indie Solutions.
What a journey to become president of a company in just a few months. Now I run our events, plan our company marketing, and still do author services; covers, editing, formatting, and some other things. I’m so happy for this experience.
